Dolphin Charger Range enters 3rd Generation with PREMIUM

CANNES (France), 5 May 2010 – Dolphin Charger has just reinforced its offer on the leisure marine market. The robust power Brand today proudly announces that it has launched the Third Generation of its highly successful Range of marine chargers.

This Third Generation of products features AC/DC 12V and 24V battery chargers from 10A to 60A. They are sold under the name “PREMIUM”.

Dolphin PREMIUM chargers offer the latest in digitally managed battery charging. “With a RISC-based microprocessor controlling the charge cycle for 4 types of batteries, they are able to re-invigorate an almost dead battery, rapidly charge and then maintain a batteries bank in good condition, irrespective of its use pattern”, says Nicolas Fata, Head of Dolphin Sales since 1996.

The PREMIUM Series is a complete offer of products designed for leisure boats and yachting activities. Dolphin PREMIUM chargers deliver full power (no derating) even at high temperatures (up to 50°C/122°F). They come in a very robust and compact casing.

“These new products are safer, more robust and efficient than ever. They have also never been so easy to connect and use: Just Plug and Play!”, says Nicolas Fata. “This truly is your perfect choice for sailboats and other pleasure craft, for all coastal yachting activities.” Of course, Dolphin PREMIUM chargers will work with any battery on the market.

Next to its PREMIUM Series, the Brand also announced that it will develop another (“PRO”) range of chargers especially designed for commercial and professional uses in coming years. The new range will certainly be the culmination of the Brand’s many years of experience gained from an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the marine industry.

The first generation of Dolphin Chargers (produced from 1995 to 2001), many of which are still in operation today, featured cutting edge design and technology and were quickly adopted by professional and leisure boaters alike. The second generation was launched in 2002: the electronic technology then shifted to surface mount-design, and considerable focus was placed on the aesthetics in order to combine both form and function. It proved to be a successful recipe and was reflected in Dolphin Charger Brand’s growth around the world in the following years. The present, third generation series concept is to develop the product along two separate lines: an elementary range (PREMIUM) for lower power applications and a professional (PRO) range for high power demand.

Dolphin Charger is a specialist in robust standard and customized power conversion-and-supply solutions for the recreational and professional marine markets. It started operations in 1995 near the shores of the Annecy Lake in the French Alps. The brand is managed and distributed by REYA (Alliance Marine Group, France). The brand’s R&D is provided by French custom-power expert CATS POWER DESIGN.

The marine industry: how to tackle the shortage of operational manpower?

For several years now, the marine industry has been facing a major challenge: a shortage of operational manpower. Despite a large number of job opportunities, this problem is particularly acute among pleasure boat builders. The main challenge for the marine industry is to attract and retain talent. This situation raises a number of questions: how can we improve the visibility and attractiveness of nautical professions? What strategies should be adopted to solve the housing and transport problems that are obstacles for potential workers? And how can innovative companies - such as Dolphin Charger - play a role in revitalizing this sector?
